Component affected:

• Hard drive cable

Symptoms:

• Data transfer issues
• Hard drive not recognized
• SMART data shows a lot of read/write/seek errors

Apple Repair program:
This issue has never been acknowledged by Apple.

The Issue:
This one is pretty straight forward, the cable connecting the hard drive to the logic board fails.

The Fix:
Order a new cable, put it in and good as new!
