This program covered affected Time Capsule models for 3 years from their original date of purchase.

The Issue:
About 18-20 months into it’s life, the first generation Time Capsules started failing. The exact cause is not known but it was not the external power brick, it was the Time Capsule itself.

The Fix:
No known fix other than having the Time Capsule replaced by Apple. This was done at a charge until the repair program started in June 2010, at which point those that had paid out of pocket were able to get a refund.
